2012 ADA Walk

Every year Team Garcia represents at the Valencia Step Out: Walk to Stop Diabetes. We raise money and then get together on an early Saturday morning to walk 4 miles together to bring awareness to something that effects our family.

We load up on bagels, coffee and bananas....

We hit up the photo booth......

We wear our team t-shirts with pride.....

We pose for pictures....

And we wait at the starting line.....

And we walk, and talk and laugh and have a good time.....

My cousins Patricia and Erika work together to get our family organized every year. Thanks Ladies!

Our Tata has been on dialysis for years now due to complications from diabetes. I have Tia's who are diabetic and my cousin Patricia and I both dealt with gestational diabetes. It effects us, like it effects a lot of Mexican-American families. This is what we do every year to bring some attention to the cause and to honor our family members who live with diabetes everyday.
